"I am a graduate of Harvy Mudd College and a PhD student of mathematics. I have been a university math instructor for 7 years and have over 15 years of one-on-one tutoring experience. I have helped students in all levels of math, physics, chemistry, computer science, accounting, finance, economics, and more. I enjoy breaking things down in a way students can really understand them. When people say they are bad at math or science, what I think they really mean is that they are out of practice. I love showing people that math and science can be much easier than anticipated when concepts are explained clearly. I enjoy seeing how different people learn and adjusting my teaching style to math the needs of each student."

"I graduated from UC San Diego with a B.A. in Cognitive Science and am currently working towards my M.A. in Psychology. I’ve tutored students in both undergraduate- and graduate-level courses and I absolutely love working through the tough questions together. When I was a high-school student, I was lucky enough to find wonderful tutors who gave me the tools and confidence to succeed in more difficult subjects. I know the remarkable value and significance of an excellent tutor, and my goal is to provide that same support for my students today."

"I am a graduate from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelors in Mathematics. I have tutored students at the high school and college level for four years. I love the ways that we can use math and hope that my students can see how it works with our everyday lives. I have found that many of my hobbies have had in some way or another incorporate math. Whether it is playing a hard game of tennis or a relaxing game of chess, I have found math as a core part of my growing potential. What I love the most about tutoring is to have the chance to interact with new people, experience new ideas, and share my knowledge with others so that they can strengthen themselves."

"I have spent the last 3.5 years of my life in the US Navy. I've had the experience of a lifetime as a Naval Officer but it is time to move on as a civilian. My tutoring experience started in 2011 for Miami-Dade College. I then transferred to the University of South Florida where I tutored at our SMART Lab for 2.5 years. While obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, with a marine concentration, I gained a total of 4 years of tutoring experience. The subjects that I tutor include finite math, college algebra, pre-calculus/trigonometry, calculus 1, calculus 2 and others. I now want to pursue my passion of teaching, and for me, it starts here!"

"I am a professional tutor and teacher with more than 8 years of experience. I graduated from the University of Colorado in 2013 with a degree in chemical engineering and a minor in physics. I have taught a wide wide variety of science classes and use mathematics in my daily life. I think that when learning it is important to understand how what you learn applies to the real world. I use this to motivate my students and to hopefully give them a broader perspective of how the world works. Ultimately, my goal for any student is to show them that what they are doing is meaningful and that they are capable of success in whatever they choose to do."

"i was born and raised near Santa Cruz, CA and I graduated from UCSD in 2017 with a BS in Physics. I work full time as a Research & Development Engineer for an electromagnetics company working on sensors and metamaterials for RF and IR applications. I have been a freelance tutor since senior year of high school and worked for a tutoring company for 8 months during college. My favorite part of tutoring is when a student who has been working hard on a particular subject finally breaks through and understands; that light bulb going off and look of satisfaction afterward makes the long hard hours of work worth it. I love teaching math and science because those subjects in particular rely on pure logic or pure evidence, and unites us as people as the conclusions can be reproduced or used as stepping stones for newer and better conclusions."

"I worked for IBM for 7 years, and in 1983 taught computer programming for six months at IBM's Chicago Education Center. From 1989 through 2016, I taught math full-time for Mt. San Jacinto Community college in San Jacinto and Menifee, CA. In 1989, I received a certificate from the United States Chess Federation awarding me the title of 'Chess Master,' and I'm currently teaching chess to kids in grade school. I enjoy tutoring, even more than I enjoyed teaching, and I enjoyed teaching immensely, because tutoring affords me the opportunity to more quickly discern what the weaknesses and strengths of a given student are so I can then prescribe specific types of exercises that will help eliminate those weaknesses and other types that will better facilitate the learning of new material by tapping into the student's strengths."

"I am a third year undergrad at the University of California, San Diego studying computer science. My interests include the outdoors and playing basketball, soccer, and football. I have been a tutor since high school, helping fellow classmates and younger kids in computer science and math topics. I enjoy tutoring because I love helping students realize their potential and showing them that they are very much capable of anything they put their mind to!"

"I recently graduated from UCSD with a degree in physics. I started tutoring math while studying abroad, and I enjoyed it so much that I became an official tutor with the physics department. I love tutoring because I get to witness the light bulb moments when students finally understand interesting math and physics concepts. "
